TRILLSINTERLUDE & ABULLEZ | ARTIST SPOTLIGHT
Meet Abullez and TrillsInterlude, two rising artists shaping a fresh wave in Vermont music through honesty, instinct, and community.
Born in Kenya and raised in Vermont, Abullez started making music during the quiet days of the pandemic. What began as curiosity turned into a way for him to understand himself through writing and sound.
TrillsInterlude, raised in Baltimore, grew up between musical theater and classic R&B. His real push into rap came from watching his older brother create. That early moment of inspiration eventually grew into his own artistic identity.
Their influences tell the story of who they are becoming. TrillsInterlude drew early inspiration from artists such as XXXTentacion, Kurt Cobain, and Lil Uzi, but today he is driven most by the friends around him. For Abullez, Vermont artist Hakeem XOXO played a major role, showing him what was possible and helping shape his early confidence in music.
Their creative processes differ but complement each other. Abullez builds slowly, writing in pieces until the song matches the idea in his head. TrillsInterlude works from instinct, creating in the moment and focusing on what feels real.
For both artists, music is becoming more than expression. It is a growing sense of identity and community. As they continue to evolve, they hope their stories inspire other young artists to trust themselves, follow curiosity, and take the leap that starts the journey.
Because sometimes the biggest moments begin simply by choosing to hit record.
Catch TrillsInterlude and Abullez this Saturday, November 29th as they perform at Higher Ground!
