SAVANAH TEBEAU-SHERRY | ARTIST SPOTLIGHT
Meet Savanah Tebeau-Sherry, a multidisciplinary artist from Colchester, Vermont whose figurative work explores vulnerability, distortion, and emotional connection through drawing, painting, and screen printing. Inspired by the Burlington art scene’s energy and support, Savanah infuses themes of love, body image, and human form into her art, often blending mediums in pursuit of surreal and thought-provoking imagery.
A UVM graduate and former student-athlete, Savanah’s artistic voice grew stronger during the pandemic. She built her network by reaching out to artists and eventually found community in the Iskra Print Collective, where she discovered a passion for screen printing. Her creative process is deeply influenced by figure drawing, design, and words—often collaborating with her twin sister, a poet, to create projects like a “love notes vending machine” and a zine on twinhood during a residency at Direct Angle Press.
Savanah’s work invites confusion and curiosity, often beginning with sketches or poetic inspiration and evolving through experimentation. She challenges conventional perspectives, especially in her recent oil painting series exploring people-pleasing and body distortion. Whether blending clay, photography, and digital art or diving back into oils after years with acrylics, Savanah brings depth and emotion into every piece.
Next up: Savanah is launching her website, exploring large-scale oil paintings, and developing a series of “flesh-scapes”—figurative works shaped by community input. Her journey is a reminder to embrace imperfection, welcome creative freedom, and stay curious.
