ROBSCURE | ARTIST SPOTLIGHT
Independent rapper and producer Robscure is making waves in the hip-hop scene with his introspective, genre-blending sound. Originally from Vermont and now based in New York City, Robscure’s music falls under a variety of hip-hop—sometimes chill, sometimes aggressive, but always deeply reflective. With his latest project, he’s taking listeners on a sonic journey through the fundamental forces of nature, using production, wordplay, and vocal delivery to embody each element’s essence.
“'FIRE' is definitely more aggressive and in-your-face than my previous projects,” Robscure explains. “The idea behind ‘ELEMENTS’ is to emulate the qualities of each element—earth, air, water, and fire through the music.”
The journey began with “EARTH”, a project focused on stability and laying a solid foundation—much like Robscure’s own path in music. "AIR" followed, representing freedom and adaptability, while "WATER" embraced a fluid, laid-back vibe. Now, with "FIRE" on the horizon, Robscure is diving into the most intense and multifaceted element yet.
“People often associate fire with anger and aggression, but it’s also nurturing,” he says. “Fire has been essential to human progress—keeping us warm, cooking our food, and protecting us. I wanted to reflect that duality in my music.”
Beyond the conceptual depth, "FIRE" marks a significant shift in Robscure’s creative process. After nearly six years of mixing his own tracks out of necessity and perfectionism, he made the decision to outsource the task for the first time. “Letting go of control was tough, but it’s been one of the best decisions I’ve made,” he admits.
With "FIRE" set to drop in February, Robscure is already looking ahead to his next chapter: his first full-length album.
Listeners can expect a year full of exciting releases, from new music to exclusive merch. “I hope people can see their own experiences through the lens I’m holding up in my music,” Robscure says.
Stay tuned for "FIRE" this February, and keep an eye out for Robscure’s upcoming projects in 2025—because if "ELEMENTS" has taught us anything, it’s that his artistry is constantly evolving, just like the natural forces that inspire him.
