MEDO LENS | ARTIST SPOTLIGHT

Meet Mohammed Almulla, better known as Medo, a rising creative voice whose lens captures everything from weddings and festivals to concerts, sports, and music videos.

Medo’s story begins in Iraq, where his family owned an old Nikon camera. That simple tool sparked his curiosity, and when his father later bought him his first camera in Turkey, it set him on a path that would evolve into a lifelong passion. From making YouTube videos to covering local events, Medo quickly built a foundation through hands-on practice, self-teaching, and an endless drive to create.

Growing up in a family of artists, with a father who painted and sisters who explored their own artistic talents, Medo was immersed in creativity from the start. But his journey wasn’t easy. Without equipment or mentors nearby, he turned to YouTube tutorials, learning to experiment with angles, framing, and technique. What started as freestyle practice became the roots of a career.

One of his biggest milestones was launching Medo Lens, his own creative platform. While studying at Burlington Technical Center, Medo’s teacher Jason opened doors to concerts, music videos, and collaborations that expanded his artistry. His first booking to shoot basketball pushed him even further, giving him the chance to travel out of state, refine his speed behind the camera, and learn how to capture motion with precision.

Looking ahead, Medo is chasing a dream he’s held since childhood: making his own film. Currently in the process of writing his first short film, he sees it as the next chapter in his creative journey. In the meantime, he continues building his portfolio with projects like an upcoming music video collaboration with Vision Media and Topia.
