HYP3R | ARTIST SPOTLIGHT

HYP3R is an emerging artist in Vermont who is set to release his most ambitious project to date: “PERIOD”. Releasing this Friday, July 4th, HYP3R has incorporated many sounds and genres when recording songs for the project. Being inspired by greats such as Juice WLRD, XXXTentacion, and even Olivia Rodrigo, there is a lot of music to enjoy for everyone. “This album is very personal to me. But it’s not unrelateable. Anybody can relate to it”. 

The album is broken into 4 sides: Falling, In Love, Pain, and Aftermath. Each side contains different sounds and vibes that match anyone who is going through any point of a relationship in their life. HYP3R states “‘PERIOD.’ is a relationship. It’s literally an album about having the beginning of a relationship to the end of a relationship”. The recording process has been therapeutic for HYP3R, coming off a very difficult time in his life, “PERIOD.” represents a sense of closure as he moves on to the next chapter in his life. Specifically on Side D on the album. 

“I tried to structure it to where I could just say that’s my closure. Because in my context, I never got that. This is my closure. This project is my own closure to what I was going through and hopefully it can be your closure too”. 

After “PERIOD.” HYP3R plans to release a collab album with fellow local DJ and close friend Aiden. Titled “Beach Party”, the project will feature a EDM house hyperpop sound. In terms of his solo career, HYP3R is already gearing up for his followup album. “After ‘PERIOD.’ we transition to NPJB… There’s gonna be two projects that drop simultaneously.”
